COMMUNITY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER

While practising physical distancing, we believe there’s no reason to create social isolation. Reach out to your friends and neighbours through emails, phone calls, or video chat apps.

Technologies enable us to stay connected during crisis times like this. But please remember you may have seniors or other neighbours on your block who are not tech savy. They need social connection, and they may need of assistance with accessing information or getting needed supplies.

LOCAL NEIGHBOURHOOD BASED SOCIAL MEDIA APP

Nextdoor Alberta Avenue is the neighbourhood hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information, goods and services.

TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER AND BE A BLOCK CONNECTOR

Do you know the neighbours on your block or do you want to get to know them? Can you be a point person on your block? Help get information to people and help neighbours make connections and find resources? Do you like to listen to the experiences of your neighbours? Do you like to bring people together? Do you want to make sure any vulnerable or needy neighbours get the help they need? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you would make a great block connector! Now more than ever, we need to be watching out for and helping our neighbours.
